I Downloaded the Template as an Excel File and It’s Not Working Correctly
Our templates are specifically designed and optimized for Google Sheets.
While it is possible to export the template as an Excel (.XLSX) file, some formulas, features, and automations may not work correctly outside of Google Sheets.
Why This Happens
As noted on our product page, Mindset Stack templates are built using:
- Google Sheets–specific formulas
- Built-in Google Sheets functionality
- Sheet behaviors that do not always translate perfectly to Excel
When exported to Excel, these elements can break, change, or display errors.
Recommended Solution (Best Experience)
For the best performance and full functionality, we strongly recommend:
- Using the template directly in Google Sheets
- Making your own copy in Google Drive
- Editing and tracking everything inside Google Sheets
This ensures all formulas, automations, and features work exactly as intended.
Can I Still Use Excel?
You may export the template to Excel if you choose, but please note:
- Some features may not work properly
- Errors caused by Excel compatibility are not considered product defects
- We’re unable to provide troubleshooting support for Excel-specific issues
